Front Stage Options
I have a 2002 Dodge Durango...
Also a pair of XXX Mids...
What I'm wondering is what the best option would be?
I could go active with the XXX Mids and something like ID Horns or the Vifa XT25, or I could always go hoodrich and rock two pairs of components in pods or something.
Any other ideas?

I think dual mids ( aa poly, dayton ref) and a set of horns ( if they fit) will be enough. XT 25's are nice, but they are no way near the loudness of the horns.

If you can get the XXX cheap.
After my experiences, there is no real need to drop a a bunch of money on the componets. If you listen to bass heavy rap you cannot really tell.
I got a set of profi kicks whose midbass will knock your socks off if interested.

since you have the xxx mids already, use them. in an active set up they should sound very good and loud. just make sure they are crossed properly.
horns are great but the large size may lead you away if you cant find a suitable location for them.

Hard to find a good location in a truck or truck like vehicle IMO

for horns or mids?
the doors are one of the most comon locations in most all vehicles. they are also easy to mod to fit most speakers. horns are a bit harder to find a location in most vehicles.
