I'm new - Need help!

Hey guys, i'm new to audio systems. I just wanted to get a cheap sub, and amp that would start me off. I understand this system isn't going to be great or anything, but what do you guys think?

eBay Motors: 2 MTX THUNDER-X 12" 750W SUBS + 2000W AMP + SUB BOX NEW (item 300124549187 end time Jul-04-07 21:19:56 PDT)

That's the link. I'm not trying to promote it, just posting to see what you guys think.

Also, how hard would it be to install? I have a 95' Crown Victoria with stock radio.

Thanks in advance!,
Mike

if you want cheap subs and amps that'll do. never heard of the amp and it doesn't give power handling (at least i don't see any). not really a fan of MTX subs either.

yes you'll be able to bump a little with that but i would just get a different set up. I wouldn't buy a preloaded set up like that because most likely, the box isn't built to the specs of the subs and the amp is probably junk. just do a little more research because you don't want to buy some cheap equipment that will only last you a month or two.

Hmmm, subs might be decent. Don't get fooled by the enclosure, especially when it states "Power Handling 15,000 Watts". Amplifier will not do 2,000 watts either. You might wanna check out some used woofers that are better. I think supa_c and daluficer may still have some subs. You can always buy a simple prefab box. I'm sure someone here is selling amplifiers, like dragnix. You could probably get a better quality system that way than buying from that ebay auction. I mean you'll get some bump, may not be much, just dont expect too much out of it.

i forgot about dragnix and all of his amps...

if you need to buy any items, you can ask j3bus2k about them. Check out the SPL Performance forum down there to see what brands he carry.

I have lots of amps for sale that's for sure

But you would need to give us a budget on what you want and wat you want out of it. For budget subs i'd go with mach5 subs(if supa_c and dalucifer doesn't have any left). Box u can build urself, real easy and a good learning experience. Anything else i can help you with...just holla!!

They do have some TC2's I think. I'm sure they still have a Dayton 10. 500w to that and ur 501bd khoa would be a good match...i think the dayton is a Dual 4 as well.
