High end component Set

Ok here's the deal. I'm looking for a nice pair of component speakers for the F-150. I'm planning on a $400 budget for speakers and amp. I'm actully leaning more on just $400 for the speakers. I want to go for an SQ oriented setup but they'll still need to be able to keep up with the DP. My truck has 5 x 7's in the door (I think). For now I would like to keep everything stock looking. I might do some kicks in the future but for right now I'd like to leave the speakers in the stock position. I was originally thinking about getting some Kicker SS6.5's but I'm not sure now.

I have pretty much no knowledge of component speakers so I'd really appreciate some help for you guys. I'll run them passive for now but I'd like to go active in the future.

I'd really appreciate any help from you guys...

Thanks..

Jon

I'm not really an expert on speakers either but some brands i'd look into are your typical Focal, Rainbow, Diamond, Crystals, OZ, or maybe ask megalomaniac about the Hertz that he is running, those look pretty good.

And i've seen lots of people with the pro60 from Boston lately, only thing is they have some huge ass crossovers.

Thanks for the advise!! I had looked at most of them. I kinda know the main companies but I was wondering if there were any features that I should look for?? I'm thinking about leaning toward a whole new system. I put the DP in today and did not like the output of the box. Owell, I'm thinking about a SQ system that is designed for one think and one think only, wicked LOWS!!!!!!!

I just heard these, and they sounded great and get plenty loud.

He (as in the owner) said they can get a little harsh if you really crank on them but I never noticed it and he had them up fairly loud.

Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS - Pioneer Premier 6.75" Component Speaker System

You might be able to find them cheaper else where the link is just for reference.

The QSC and QSD from MB Quart are quite nice as well as they're signature series components.

Thanks for the idea's. I just pulled the doors apart and found I need 5.5"s not 6.5"s. I'll take a look at the MB's and the pioneers.

That would evolve "modifying" the doors. I don't know if I want to do that. I'm trying to keep stuff stock for a reason. I don't want to do to much to the truck so I can resell it in the future.
