voltage help! - Buy & Sell Car Audio Equipment

as some of you know i got my amp and alt finally and everything is installed but even with a yellow top and a scosche 1700 0 guage all around and a 200 amp high out put alt my voltage still goes to 12 and sometimes 11.8 if i put the 1700 up front and get a kenitic 2400 in the back will that solve it? or should i get 2 batterys in the back?

Having 2 batteries in the back won't help when your car is on. Actually, having 2 batteries will cause more stress to your alternator. I assume at idle & car on, you are reading at around 12v? Have you tried revving the engine @ 1500-2000 RPM and checking the voltage?

Where did you buy the 200a H/O at?

at idle my voltage is 13.7 when i hold the rpms at 2500 its fine but i cant sit in traffic and hold the rpms lol i have a excessive amperage alt
