U.S. AMPS XT4000D, Anyone have any opinion on this amp?

I'm thinking of getting this to push rl-i 8"s in the wife's car (2 D4). I had a directed 1500D, but it's on it's way out. It states that it'll do 1500@1ohm, but how true to rated power does this amp do? I would like to have the extra power on tap just in case I can talk the wife into more later in the future. Thx for any & all help.
