Just Curious

When I ran my Soundstream XXX 6500 off my 90A alt (stock FTL&G) with the HC 1400 under the hood, there were two times where voltage dropped to 10.5V. I drove the car a good 1 - 2 months after that. Is it possible that could have damaged the battery? I'm just wondering because the shop that was repairing my vehicle said the battery may have been damaged from before, but I never had any problems with it and I'm just wondering if they were by any chance possibly right with their assumption.

i would think that when ur voltage dip and u had ur car on it would only be the fault of ur alternator and wouldn't hurt ur battery.

But then again, i could be wrong

Car was off.

BTW: Supposedly they fixed the alarm which caused me to believe this, but the alarm is not fixed. I doubt I'll ever get my car back.

I think they are just keeping your car for the hell of it now. Doesnt the insurance company have another trusted shop in the area? They are probly just trying to squeeze every penny out of the insurance company they can. Ever seen those 20/20 episodes on that?

Oh I already know what theyre doing. My dad talked to them and he told them he knows they could do this same job in half the time and for half the price. They are getting the money out the insurance company because they said they have to show that they have the car for a while because of all the labor time they said they put in. But the first time they called me yesterday they said the car was ready and the alarm worked and it was just the battery, which i found to be odd. Then they called about an hour later telling me its not ready and that it worked before and now its not, which leads me to believe they never even tried it in the first place, they just thought replacing the battery was going to solve the problem.

Theyre date to finish that they gave AAA is this Thursday or this Friday, im not sure if they'll even make it. I think i know what the problem might be for the alarm but ill let them figure it out and handle it.

I have no clue yet. They may have given it to the distributor they got it from and swapped it for the new one.

Yeah, the kinetik. I dont know what they did with the kinetik I had under the hood. I guess I can ask them, but i can care less. There is a distributor about 25 mins away and they got a new one from them. They are allowing me to get my battery and wiring checked out to verify that its installed and working properly (free of charge)...they being the distributor. They can check the wiring if they want, but nothing has been changed and I never had any problems running my system so I have nothing to worry about nor do I foresee any problems arising.
