Orion 2500D No difference @.5ohm?
Well I was talking to a guy from a pretty important guy from crossfire(they make orion 2500Ds) And he told me that if your run that amp at .5ohm it will make no difference as to 1ohm.
Anyone have personal experience with running them at both 1 ohm and .5ohm
if so what was the results?
thanks

Crossfire making orion 2500d's??? That doesnt make sense. From what I have heard there is about 500w difference between 1 ohm and .5 ohms on that amp. You may not notice a difference by ear, but I'm sure you'll gain .x dB. Also, you can't directly compare running that amp at 1 ohm and .5 ohms, unless you use the same woofer but with different impedences.

that crossfire guy= dumb @ss they have no relation to directed. As stated above you will only see a slight increase in spl thats because these amps are internally regulated. Nice amp BTW, one of my favorites.

i dont know if orion was an independant company before they went to directed electronics or not but... crossfire, orion!!! no way....
its simple math less ressistance ( lower ohm rateing) will allow you to have more power... may not be noticable to you're ear.. but you will deff. gain db's!!

he could merely mean that there is no difference in audible output to the ear. But there should be a definite gain in power once u drop the impedance, and numbers on the TL also

yea it was that guy at the comp..
Thats what i thought, lower impedence equals less resistance simple as that
