When you plug in the bass knob though the sub thumps, then stops, then when u pull it b ack out it makes a thump noise again. I have the gain up a tad..didn;t help either..

Have you checked the RCA's to make shure they arent bad and/or disconnected?

Yea; should be; that doesn't mean they are. It sounds like your sub is getting power, just not a signal. Make sure your RCA's are plugged into the correct preout on your headunit. Your preouts could be bad; it happened to me. Your input on your amp could be bad. Do you have an extra cheap HU you could swap to check? Or a friend that would let u see?

Never assume something works without proof

Check the way you've connected the speaker wires to the amp;

Are the terminals on the BX amp like this:
+ - - +

Or like this:
+ - + -

I had an idiot moment with my sundown mono when I swapped from the two-channel; wrong terminal

Also, the remote gain only turns the gain /down/ from the setting on the amp. Just a thought.
